Environment Committee to Discuss Drought Regulations

April 9, 2015

Tomorrow, the City of San Diego’s Committee on the Environment will have a special meeting to discuss the Governor’s Executive Order for Statewide Mandatory Water Reductions (Item 6).

Who:City of San Diego’s Committee on the Environment

What: On April 1, 2015 Governor Brown issued Executive Order B-29-15, mandating substantial water reductions across the State of California.  The Committee will hear City staff’s response to the Governor’s Executive Order.

When:Friday, April 10, 2015 at 2PM

Where: City Administration Building, Committee Room – 12th floor, 202 C Street.

Why: For the first time in state history, the Governor has directed the State Water Resources Control Board to implement mandatory water reductions in cities and towns across California to reduce potable urban water usage by 25 percent. These restrictions will require water suppliers to California’s cities and towns to reduce usage as compared to the amount used in 2013.
