Alvarez holds community office hours in Sherman Heights

March 9, 2011

San Diego, CA- City Councilmember David Alvarez announced new office hours for the northern half of his district.  The times and location will give constituents convenient access to their Councilmember in their own community.

Councilmember Alvarez will be available from 3-5pm on the second Fridays of the month at the Sherman Heights Community Center, 2258 Island Avenue, beginning this Friday.  This is in addition to first Fridays in San Ysidro and third Fridays in Otay Mesa/Nestor.  However, this Friday March 11, the office hours in Sherman Heights will begin at 2PM.
“Being accessible to my constituents is a top priority for me,” says Alvarez.  “Providing convenient access is important as downtown may be inaccessible for some.  I look forward to working with my constituents on issues that are important to them, and in their own communities.”

Two options will be available for those wishing to meet with Councilmember Alvarez.  Appointments during office hours can be made by calling the District 8 office at 619-236-6688.  Additionally, walk-in visitors will be taken in the order they arrive based on availability.

Alvarez is the Councilmember for the Eighth Council District of the City of San Diego, which includes the northern communities of Sherman Heights, Golden Hill, Stockton, Logan Heights, Barrio Logan, Memorial, Grant Hill, and Southcrest.  He is currently the chair of the City Council’s Natural Resources and Culture committee.
